Resilience is the quality of bouncing back after having faced sudden adversity or calamity. For a city, resilience means its ability to recover, restore and regenerate despite of constantly changing environmental conditions and the increasing pressure on its natural resource base. But practically, what would a resilient city look like? In the following piece, the poet attempts to narrate the characteristics of a resilient city in a metaphorical fashion by humanizing it and softly nudging the reader to think of a city that is in complete harmony with a balance between the natural and man-made environment.
